About the Trust

Hampstead Garden Suburb was developed in the early 20th century as an exemplar of good practice in housing design and residential planning. It is now considered to be one of the finest examples of its type and includes around five thousand houses and flats, as well as commercial properties, public buildings, woods and open recreational spaces.

The Hampstead Garden Suburb Trust was set up in 1968 to maintain and preserve the character and amenities of the Suburb. It does this principally through a Scheme of Management under s.19 of the Leasehold Reform Act 1967 for freehold properties, and through its ownership of leasehold properties. The Trust controls alterations to buildings, manages its green estate and undertakes occasional improvement projects of community benefit.

The Trust Office is based on the Suburb. It is publicly accessible and has frequent visitors, including residents, contractors and consultants. The Trust’s total establishment of eleven staff also includes a four-person Planning team and three-person Business Management team.

The role is permanent, full-time and office based.

The salary will be £72,000 to £77,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
